Tren Urbano is the first passenger rail system constructed in Puerto Rico, and the largest single project ever built on the island. The 17 kilometer project is divided into seven Alignment Sections, each managed as a separate contract groups. Alignment Section #’s 8 and 9 – Hato Rey – is largely comprised of elevated guideway sections weaving through heavily populated metropolitan areas and business districts, and includes three design-build stations.
