At CPM, we believe that aging project delivery methods will not satisfy the needs of today's construction environment. Each form of General Contracting, Construction Management or Design-Build contract arrangement has advantages and disadvantages. The risks inherent in each delivery method can result in loss of control that owners can experience due to complex agendas at work.
Because of this, CPM considers the use of Agency Construction Management (ACM) to be the method that returns control to the owners own budget, schedule and quality.
Under an ACM arrangement, CPM provides a full range of construction management services as an extension of the owner's staff. CPM's management activities are performed on a professional basis in a way that allows the owner to make its own operating decisions throughout the project life cycle. This method keeps the owner fully informed at every step, and provides for the owner's direct control over all schedule and budget elements.
For a construction owner, ACM offers significant advantages. It preserves focus on budget and schedule, and removes the classic conflicts of interest that are inherently designed into conventional construction agreements.
In ACM, the owner can determine for itself the level of direct participation it desires in the management of the project. |
